PTI Anniversary Day 8

This card is for Day 8 of the Anniversary Celebration at PTI.  With the release of a new collection titled "Blue Skies," Nichole asked us to create a project using the ombre effect with shades of blue.  Here is what I came up with tonight:

Butterfly Dreams, Signature Greetings, Woodgrain Impression Plate

I created the blue ombre effect on white cardstock with Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, and Enchanted Evening.  I used the die from Butterfly Dreams to cut out the butterfly, and then I stamped the outline image on each piece.  A little sparkle from my Clear Star pen, and the butterflies were complete!

Unfortunately, I have the need for a sympathy card, so I pulled out one of my favorite butterfly stamps to create this:

Butterfly Dreams, Sending You (PTI)

I stamped the butterflies and the sentiment in Versamark and then heat embossed them with silver embossing.  I wanted to add a little more detail to the card, so I pulled out one of my favorite edger punches from my much-neglected drawer and used it on the Enchanted Evening panel and Soft Stone base.  I like the swirl pattern in the largest butterflies and how the embossing powder highlighted that detail. 

I have another idea for this week's challenge and I hope to get it completed before the deadline!

2nd Post today! More cards for Becky

Again, here is Becky's Compose a Card Challenge #9.  I like that it is pretty open and versatile.

I used some Making Memories Dreamy 2 patterned paper and Bitty Dot Basics in Lemon Tart from PTI. 

The butterfly is from Butterfly Dreams that Niki Estes released in February from PTI.  I ran it through my Xyron upside down and sprinkled some prisma glitter on it for some sparkle.

Terracotta Butterfly!

This is the first card I made when I got the scallop die and Background Basics: Tin Type delivered.  I had never really used Terracotta Tile, but I love it.  My stitching is a bit small, so I already adjusted that for next time.  I hardly ever sew on my cards, and I need to do that more often.  This card feels like it is missing something, but oh well, I already gave it away!

Butterfly Happy Birthday

I knew the moment I saw the sneak peek for Butterfly Dreams that I had to have it.  I love butterflies, and the designs that Niki Estes created are fabulous!

I tried the emboss resist technique with not much success, but I still like how the card turned out.  Is there a better color than Spring Moss?  Maybe Spring Rain, or Summer Sunrise, or Ripe Avocado, or OH - Enchanted Evening?  You get the picture!

I need a photography lesson too!
