Thank you, Nichole!

I was purely a scrapbooker until February 2009.  I kept seeing this little company pop up on a couple of blogs I followed...Papertrey Ink.  (Who???  What??) I found their website and couldn't find the stamps that were being showcased at the time.  Little did I know, PTI was in the middle of a release at the time and hadn't fully revealed all the February 2009 glory yet.  I began to follow Nichole Heady's blog only to discover that there is another whole world of paper-crafting out there that had nothing to do with scrapbooks - cardmaking.  I was hooked.

Thanks to some friendly PTI forum members, I've even been encouraged to use my favorite PTI products on my scrapbook layouts - which I'm thrilled about - more bang for the buck!  This makes me giddy! 

The community that PTI has built is like no other.  The forum is a friendly, inspiring place.  Several blog groups have been formed to support and challenge each other. Even the owners, design team and customer service representatives are available most of the time on the forum to answer questions. I love PTI and all that it has to offer - from products to people.  So, thank you, Nichole, Jennifer, Julie, and everyone behind the scenes for giving so many people so much joy!

I made you this card to show my thanks!  It's not easy to please all the people all the time, but I know you all have the commitment to try!

P.S.  This also fits the challenge for the Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge! Michelle challenged us to use a stamp that has not seen ink and a product we haven't used yet.  The stamp was the balloon strings and the product was Harvest Gold cardstock - yum!

Happily Ever Challenged

Ted has given us a timely challenge this month on his blog, Happily Ever Crafter.  In honor of the 4th of July, he challenged us to use colors from Old Glory on a project.  You can play along and see all the submissions if you click here.

Well, it's July 13th, so it's a little late to play along with the 4th of July theme, so I used the colors on a Thank You card.

The inside has a white panel, inked on the edges in blue and a thank you sentiment from Inside and Out: Thank You.

Again - Everyday Button Bits!  Love it!!  This card was a little different.  The white cardstock is mounted on the pure poppy bitty dot basics paper.  Then, I cut the base from pure poppy and left an inch hanging on the left side and mounted the image underneath and secured with some twine.  Thanks for coming by and looking!

First Bike Scrapbook Layout

This is a layout I completed last summer when I was still in awe over Everyday Button Bits!  I had never really used stamps for scrapbooking and this opened up a whole new world for me.  I need to get back to creating layouts since I'm many months behind on my self-imposed deadline.  That's my dad and son.  My dad is very ill now, so this page is priceless for me.

Have I ever told you how much I love Everyday Button Bits?  Probably.  This is a card I made when I first got the set.  I heat embossed the image that was supposed to be the grass on Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides. Then I alternated them to create the ocean.  Stickles on the sun and some yellow buttons for my duckies and I was done!  I gave this card to a fellow teacher in August who was in for a rough year.(Thank goodness we're in the home stretch!)

I love PTI's Everyday Button Bits!  It's a wonderful set that is so versatile, has great images, sentiments and fonts. Since PTI began this series in July 2009, they've released 3 other button bit stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Blooming Button Bits and Baby Button Bits.  I'm hoping for more, but I don't know what else they could do.

PTI Anniversary - Day 8

Nichole Heady is celebrating Year 3 of PTI.  Her challenge today was to use a sketch and a specific color palette to create a card. Here are the sketch and color palette:

In retrospect, I probably should have moved the ribbon and flowers down a little, but I'm happy to work with a different color scheme.  This is definitely out of my box!
