Market Street Stamps Block Party

It's time for Market Street Stamps' block party and I'm really excited to share my card with you.  I realize it's out of season, so I'll just let you think that I'm a really organized person who thinks ahead....way ahead!  The truth is that I do have several sets of Market Street Stamps sets, but several of them are background sets and several are Halloween sets.  The ghost just screamed out at me as I was looking at all of my Market Street Stamps.  I'm dreaming of a huge order someday in the near future.  Don't worry - I have my list going!

Here's my card for the block party:

Sweet Spooks (MSS), Fancy Flourish die (MFT), Picket Fence die (PTI)

After die-cutting the picket fences, I rubbed Kraft ink on the Woodgrain impression plate and ran it through a die-cutting machine so that the die-cut resembles a worn fence.  I like the worn look that it gives.  Then I punched out a circle from the gray cardstock, and punched punch again to create the crescent moon. I wanted to add some spooky trees to the card, so I cut two flourishes and adhered them in opposite corners to mimic bare tree branches. I love it when I can use my supplies for unexpected things!  After stamping the CUTE ghost, I cut him out and colored in the cheeks.  I ran him through a Xyron sticker maker face down, and then poured glitter on him for added sparkle.  I used pop-dots to adhere him in front of the fence.

I hope you are able to play along with the Block Party this weekend.  You can get all the details and see more entries if you click HERE.

Coordinating bookmark

Here is the second project I submitted to Paper Crafts.  It's a coordinating bookmark for the card I posted yesterday.  I used the same Vintage Notepad stamp from Market Street Stamps, but this time I used Lawn Fawn's Smitty's Alphabet to build the sentiment.  The apple was die cut from cardstock instead of felt this time.  This bookmark measures 7-3/4 x 2-5/8inches.  I used the same ruler ribbon.  I just love it!

I'm short on words today!  I'll be back tomorrow to share my last school project I submitted. Then, I'm hoping to share some cards from the current online class that I'm taking - Clean and Simple cards.

Back to School?

Yes, I know.  It's January, not August.  And believe me, no one is happier about that than I am.  I will take this 45 degree weather over the 114 degrees we had last summer.  It's almost glorious outside.  My students are still wearing shorts and flip flops to school and that makes me giddy.  I'd have the flip flops on too if it weren't for a horrible need for a pedicure. Maybe next week.

Paper Crafts recently had a call for their summer issue, and Back to School items were requested.  I made a few things to submit, and I get to show them to you over the next couple of days.

Here's one card:

Vintage Notepad background(Market Street Stamps), Signature Greetings (PTI)
I used a great background stamp on this one - the Vintage Notepad from Market Street Stamps.  It's one large stamp that fits on my stamp press. I love it and have used it a lot.  The sentiment is from PTI - meant for a birthday.  I try to dig through some birthday stamps to see how I can use them in a different way.  This one is perfect for teachers during Back to School time.

I'll be back tomorrow with the coordinating bookmark I made for this card.

Trick or Treat

Hi, there!
Are you ready for Halloween?  I'm not.  My son doesn't even know what he wants to be - and it's the day before Halloween.  We have options - so it's not like he won't have a costume on, but he is being indecisive.  If all else fails, he'll throw on his baseball uniform and go like that.

I'm not too concerned.  He might be, but I'm not.

I made a card for his teacher.  We are on a first-name basis these days, so being his teacher is either a trick or a treat.  I'm sure it changes every day!

Market Street Stamps: Happy Pumpkin; PTI: Mat Stack 3
I colored and blended the pumpkin with watercolor pencils, and added some glitter to the eyes and mouth.  I paper pieced the leaf with some Simply Chartreuse and added the ribbon and mat in the same color.

I have to get busy and make some more Halloween cards and a birthday card for a dear friend.  I hope I get it all done.

Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!  Our weather should be PERFECT for trick-or-treating!

Market Street Stamps

I've recently been converted to a new stamp company and I'm excited!  I ordered several sets recently and just got around to opening them up and playing around.  I'm also playing along with Market Street Stamps anniversary block party.  You can get all the details here

I couldn't resist the new set called Sweet Spooks.  Loved the ghost, the spider web, the spider and the argyle.  What a great little set!  I ordered it during the release week, so it was on sale!  SWEET!

Here's my card:

I die-cut some windows out of the black paper then sewed that to a piece of orange paper.  I stamped and cut out the cute little ghosts and ran them through my Xyron before pouring prisma glitter on them.  They sparkle and shimmer and shine!  Love that ghost!  I finished it off by inking the edges with white ink, matting the sentiment and adding a few black rhinestones.  Can't wait to use these stamps again!

You can join in the festivities and the community over at Market Street Stamps!  Come with me!
